The American Industrial Hygiene Association® (AIHA) has announced the release of the third edition of “The Occupational Environment – Its Evaluation, Control and Management.” This AIHA publi- cation is an essential core reference for occupa- tional health and safety practitioners, educators, and students. The newly revised, two volume “White Book” includes comprehensive informa- tion on hazard recognition and evaluation, phys- ical agents, the human environment, controlling the occupational environment, program manage- ment, and much more. The book has been updat- ed to include the most current tools, methodolo- gies, and knowledge available in a single OEHS reference. To order, please visit www.aiha.org/market.
Two new documents from the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) are available: A Personal Fall Protection Equipment Use and Selection Guide provides practical, hands-on guidance for users and administrators in their selection, use, maintenance and inspection of fall protection equipment. A companion docu- ment, Frequently Addressed Topics in Fall Protection, covers subjects on which manufac- turers get frequent inquiries. Prepared by manufacturers in the ISEA Fall Protection Group, the 28-page, full-color use and selection guide describes the process of developing a corporate fall protection program; explains the components of fall protection sys- tems; gives examples of how to select equip- ment for various types of work, and outlines steps for planning the use of fall protection sys- tems.It also contains inspection and maintenance guidelines, definitions, lists of applicable U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and U.S. and Canadian consensus standards, and links to ISEA companies and other sources of information. Both documents are available free online in PDF format for easy reading, downloading and print- ing, and they will be updated as required by changes in regulations or standards. Link to both guides from http://www.safetyequipment.org/c/fall.cfm.
